Phil Meggers
Starting Strength Coach
Owner
Starting Strength Seminar Staff Coach
USAW Advanced Sports Performance Coach
Phil is an original founder of Testify and began coaching full-time in 2016. Prior to that, he was a high school math and physics teacher as well as a strength and conditioning coach for 13 years (you can still find him doing calculus on the chalkboard with some of our college students). He became a Starting Strength Coach in 2013 and is now a staff coach for Starting Strength Seminars. He loves seeing how strength training changes people’s everyday lives. Listening to people share their stories is actually how Testify originally got its name.
Barb Mueller
Starting Strength Coach
Owner
Barb has been a member of Testify since 2012. In 2016, she became a co-owner of Testify and its Chief Financial Officer. You can often find her coaching, and she enjoys learning and lifting right alongside you. In her spare time, Barb enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to beautiful places with her husband, Tom.
Chris Charvat, DPT
Starting Strength Coach
Physical Therapist
Chris has been training with Testify since 2019 and began coaching in 2021, obtaining his SSC in 2022. He excels at the Olympic lifts, and his background as a PT has made him a great addition to our coaching staff. He has a friendly assistant coach named Red (a golden retriever), who joins him coaching in the mornings. Chris enjoys hunting, fishing, and furniture restoration in his spare time.
Tyler Holm
Starting Strength Coach
USAW Advanced Sports Performance Coach
CrossFit Level I Trainer
Tyler was part of the first group of people to train at Testify. He was one of Testify’s early coaches and has since become a Starting Strength Coach. He put his engineering knowledge to work creating the belt wrench that is loved by many. He is also a father of two and enjoys spending time outside with his wife and children.
Mike Sharp
USAW Sports Performance Coach
Starting Strength Seminar Attendee
Mike was also an early member of Testify. He has dedicated a significant amount of time to training, coaching, and volunteering at competitions. He started coaching in order to help other people see the benefits of strength training, but we’re pretty sure he actually just wanted the chance to tell more people his dad jokes. When he’s not spending time at Testify, he enjoys fishing and working on cars.
Stephanie Sharp
Starting Strength Seminar Attendee
Stephanie has been training with Testify since the early days. Since retirement, she has filled her time coaching and even teaching english as a second language classes. She enjoys teaching and connecting with our members, and often volunteers at our competitions.
Jamie Morrissey
Starting Strength Seminar Attendee
Jamie began training with Testify in early 2020 and quickly recognized how being strong made her feel capable, and she also enjoyed having a community to train with. As her experience grew, she wanted to start sharing this with others and began coaching in late 2021. She is currently working towards earning her SSC credential. Outside of coaching, she enjoys real estate, traveling, and a good glass of wine.
Dave Hahn
Starting Strength Seminar Attendee
Dave joined Testify in 2016 after attending a Starting Strength Seminar hosted at Testify. He has been training for over 5 years, and his experience has made him a great addition to our coaching staff. Dave’s favorite part of coaching is seeing the proverbial light bulb come on for someone when they finally get a movement right. In his spare time, Dave enjoys lifting weights (duh), home improvement, working on cars, and meme-smithing (the art of making internet memes).
Becky Meggers
